What’s on trend for women, this Autumn / Winter?
Autumn is definitely on our door step, as the first drop of Autumn fashion has already hit the stores!! I KNOW!!
I’m still holding on to Summer, as I feel like I blinked and it’s gone!
It’s that time of year, where we’re not sure if it’s going to be a hot day, or a wet one.. but I want to share some trends to look out for, so your wardrobe can be ready for those cooler days!
THE TAILORED SUIT The tailored suit is one of the biggest trends this season.. if you work in an office or not!! It’s also an option for an after five outfit, special occasion, or just out to dinner. However this season, we are seeing it with a bit of a twist as well… yes it can be feminine and structured, but the Androgynous version is still just as strong!! Think Men’s tailoring for Women! Longer line jackets, slim ling pants and take off your heels ladies, as this version is teamed back with brogues…
What’s the must have piece for Winter 2016?
With Autumn knocking on our door soon, (yes it has already to start hitting the stores) the addition of a blazer can take your look from Spring/Summer to Autumn/Winter with one piece.
The blazer doesn’t have to be your traditional black or navy… this is your opportunity to be a little daring, using different colours, fabrics and textures!
Add it to your basic white tea and favourite jeans and sneakers, for a cool casual street look. Swap your jeans for a pair of chinos and leather shoes, for a more smart casual look.. or add it to a classic collard shirt and suit pants for a more corporate appropriate look.
Anyway you choose to wear your blazer, it’s going to be one of the must have’s this season and a piece that truly won’t date, but instead add value to your wardrobe!
How do you wear your blazer?
What should I wear to work, on Casual Friday?
I get allot of requests to teach my clients how to dress for Casual Friday, in the workplace!!
This subject is definitely dependent to your work place and the position you have. Obviously you have a higher role, such as a General Manager or CEO, I believe you should still wear very professional attire, with the option of a more relaxed feel. Keep in mind, that if you still have meetings with external clients, then you should definitely keep to your professional look!
However if you work in a more relaxed environment, then Casual Friday can definitely be incorporated in the work place.
Just keep in mind, Casual Friday is NOT an opportunity, to wear your latest ‘going out’ outfit!! You still want to keep a level of professionalism!
Here’s some examples of Casual Friday Style Inspiration outfits, for both Men and Women that have a more ‘Smart Casual’ feel to them.
If you feel you struggle to know what to wear to work on Casual Friday, please feel to share your questions below and I will share my reply’s. I would also love to see your ‘go to’ Casual Friday outfits!
