The oversized fashion trend…
This season we are seeing no shortage of the oversized fashion trend in dresses, pants and shirts. This trend is not for everyone and can make you look completely overwhelmed.
At STYLED BY JADE we recommend creating your oversized statement with one oversized piece per outfit. Oversized garments are not traditionally figure flattering, so pair your oversized piece back with well fitted garments to create balance and a more shapely silhouette keeping your look effortlessly chic.
Let’s take a look at some of our favourite celebrity looks.
It’s a welcome comeback to this seasons must-have shoe, the kitten heel. Push those sky high stilettos to the back of the wardrobe and say hello to style and comfort.
The kitten heel has made a major appearance strutting down the catwalks at this seasons spring/summer fashion shows. Leading the pack were Dior, Celine and Gucci with this vintage feminine look.
Embrace the kitten heel that is heavily embellished, metallic or a block colour. This look is complete with a sling back or a pointed toe. Your feet will be delighted with your pretty and practical choice.
Here are some of our favourites for the season.
With Spring Racing in full swing, we love planning and preparing our clients in the latest feminine frocks and fancy facinators. You will be sure to stand out, turning up the fashion stakes to make you a guaranteed winner.

Etiquette and elegance is key when choosing your race wear dress, headwear, jewellery, shoes and bag.

A trend we are loving right now is the deconstructed shirt. A deconstructed shirt is an effortlessly chic button down shirt modernised with a sexy feminine twist.
A modern deconstructed shirt is a staple for this season. Elaborate oversized sleeves, backless cut-outs, asymmetrical hems, off the shoulder layers, wrap arounds and ruffles are all leading the way in street style fashion.
Team your shirt with denim shorts, a denim skirt or a frayed cigarette leg denim pant. Add a sneaky heel to glamorise the look or go for a casual sport luxe sneaker.
With spring in full bloom, we have seen the runway rebirth of 80’s inspired glam silhouettes. Spring/Summer 2017 is filled with refreshing fun floral summer prints.
Floral designs and motifs are endless on all garments whether it be embroidered, embossed, lace or printed. Be adventurous and mix textures. The bolder and more dramatic this season the better.
For this seasons ultimate look invest in big, bright, bold floral blooms from head to toe. Yes, that includes matching your footwear to your outfit. Have fun in this seasons upbeat and energetic look.
Here are some of our favourite bold runway looks.
It’s all about feminine ruffles this Spring/Summer 2017 for us girls. Ruffles are a great way to create a dramatic on trend look. You will love the fun and flirty ruffled collars, sleeves, hemlines and all over layers and layers of flouncy garments on offer this season.
Make your presence known with this girly and romantic trend. Ruffles create a playful eye catching feel adding glamour, movement and dimension to your look. At STYLED BY JADE, we love the revival of this 80s trend.
When pairing your frills keep it simple with clean cut pieces to keep your look elegant and balanced. We recommend when wearing ruffles keep your accessories to a minimum to avoid overloading your outfit.
What should I wear to work?
I have the pleasure of working with so many amazing clients, from all walks of life.
However there is definitely an overwhelming increase of corporate clients, wanting to step up their game when it comes to their image and the way they present themselves.
The most asked question is, what is appropriate to wear to work?
If you work in a corporate environment, this seems to be a commonly asked question. We are finding that certain companies are becoming a little more lenient when it comes to dress code, but I believe that the way you present your self should still be high up on your priority list.
“You’re a product of your business” Now I don’t mean, just people that own their own business… NO I mean YOU!! You are your business and how we present ourselves, is very important!
I had the pleasure of having a chat with the staff from T.M Lewin, a great label from the UK, with an increasing following in Australia… and came across a great style guide, for men and women in the corporate business sector.
This guide allows you to have a brief understanding of what’s safe to wear, when you feel a little out of your comfort zone!
