“Wollongong Fashion Designer off to New York”….
As many of you will know, I have had the pleasure of collaborating and working with Fashion Designer Antonella Ianni.
We showcased her new collection at Fashion Palette earlier this year in Sydney and now have the absolute pleasure, of taking the label to New York in September.
Read the article that the Illawarra Mercury published today. x
On Friday 10th April, I was very excited to be the chosen Stylist for NSW to work with Telstra and launch the new Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge at the Telstra on George Street.
I had the pleasure of working with a great team of talented people, including the gorgeous Nikki Phillips, the amazing duo Dasha and Colin from TheTrendSpotter.net, fashion blogger Helen Lee from SassyBella.com and the gorgeous girls from Inglot Australia.
Telstra’s aim was to showcase the new phone as fashion forward, a perfect accessory for every man and woman. So a nation wide campaign was launched #4GXappeal… A team of Stylists, make up artists and photographers in every state, set up an amazing space in a Telstra store in each major city and to makeover the general public. Once makeup, styling and photos were taken, each image was then uploaded on the Telstra site for a chance to win the best street style Australia Wide. It was a huge event in every state and so much FUN!!
Here’s a little snippet of images, from behind the scenes and a couple participants.
I was also interviewed by the gorgeous Nikki Phillips on Styling and Style in general… so watch this space, for when it goes live x
Shoe designer, Christian Louboutin, announced earlier this week that he is releasing an eponymous nail polish line. While nail varnish isn’t exactly foreign territory for the designer—after all, it was only after he took some red nail polish from his assistant and painted the sole of a shoe red that a legend was born—beauty junkies are going to have to shell out $50 per bottle.
The full collection will launch on August 31 and include 30 shades across three categories: pops, nudes, and noirs. But if you absolutely can’t wait the four weeks to get your hands on a bottle, you can get his signature Rouge Louboutin right now at saks.com.
While $50 feels like a lot to spend on a polish, rest assured, the bottle is as exquisite as his footwear.

YES THIS IS VERY EXCITING!! For all the lovers of Sex and the City and Sarah Jessica Parker’s alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw… I am very excited to announce, the latest fashion and celebrity collaboration exclusive line from Sarah Jessica Parker and Nordstrom featuring shoes, handbags and a even trench coat.
The collection features more than two dozen styles, each named for a style reference that inspired the shoe. “Sex and the City” fans take note, there is a “Carrie” shoe in this collection. The shoes retail between $195 and $500. Shoe lovers never fear, you’re getting a lot of quality for that “affordable luxury” price. The shoes are made in Italy and were created hand in hand with Parker’s business partner George Malkemus, who is also CEO of Blahnik USA.
Feminine touches such as ribbons Sarah tied in her hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the Sex and the City wardrobe, and references to classic styles from the late 70’s and early 80’s are woven through the collection to give a sense of timelessness to the collection.
The shoes, marketed under the brand name SJP, will be available at Nordstrom department stores across the country starting February 28th…however, hopefully there will be an option for us to view and purchase these gorgeous shoes online?! Fingers Crossed!! I personally look forward to see the range!!
Sad News for Australian Fashion…
I had the pleasure of working with Lisa Ho in her Strand Arcade and flagship Woollahra stores over ten years ago, I still have some of her pieces. So it’s sad to hear Fashion designer Lisa Ho is closing down. Jade Sardon
Administrators HLB Mann Judd issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the end of the Australian fashion queen’s 30-year reign.
“Despite considerable interest, a sale of the Lisa Ho Group business as a going concern has not been achieved within the sale program.”
While there were whispers and numerous reports of interested buyers, including Myer and the Apparel Group – owners of the Sportscraft and Saba labels – administrators have been unable to salvage the Lisa Ho business in its entirety and are now closing the remaining stand-alone stores around the country.
“There is a difficulty in retail at the moment and a lot of other retailers are in a similar position but there was and still is a lot of love for the Lisa Ho brand. We still have parties interested in the intellectual property and remaining stock,” HLB Mann Judd’s Todd Gammel told Fairfax.
“Lisa is working through her own issues. She’s been in discussions with us and she is still interested in getting her brand back.”
“We don’t know where it’s going to get to in terms of the stock so we’ve just got to go ahead with what we can do. We would be trying for everybody to give us a view in the next few days around that so we can see if we can get some of the employees and retail away otherwise it’s going to go through the normal closing down process,” Mr Gammel said.
Sales at the online store, Strand, Elizabeth Street, Chadstone, Bourke Street and Brisbane boutiques are now underway until June 30.
Current stock, bridal and evening wear has been reduced by more than 50 per cent.
“It’s a great chance to buy an iconic piece of Australian fashion. There are now $10,000 gowns being reduced to $3,000,” Mr Gammel said.
Prior to being placed in administration on May 8 with debts of more than $10 million, there were plans for Lisa Ho Designs to be listed on the stock exchange.
Ms Ho started her career at a Sydney market in the early 1980s.
Over the years her designs have been worn by models-turned-mogels Tyra Banks and Elle Macpherson as well as singers Florence Welsh and Nicole Scherzinger. Lisa Ho has been a red carpet staple spotted at numerous film premieres and awards ceremonies both in Australia and overseas.
Australia fashion leaders were saddened by the news.
“Personally, Lisa Ho is a dear friend who I have always admired as she built her fashion brand from a small store at Paddington markets into an iconic fashion label, so it is really devastating to see a fashion pioneer like Lisa fall on tough times,” Harper’s BAZAAR editor Kellie Hush said.
“Like many Australian women, I have loved and worn Lisa Ho for decades as she has always created fashion women want to wear. I know this is not the final chapter for Lisa as she is an inspirational business woman and look forward to seeing what she does next.”
Lisa Ho was unavailable for comment.

The fashion industry is in mourning following the death of fashion journalist Anna Piaggi.
Eclectic fashion icon and muse to Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Piaggi, has passed away aged 81 in Milan.
Known for her love of fashion and her flair for style, Piaggi was a much-loved character in fashion circles. She was regularly spotted front row at fashion week around the globe dressed to the nines and in full colour make-up.
So unusual were Piaggi’s outfits that they inspired Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, to illustrate a book of her creations, in which he wrote, “Anna invents fashion.”
Lagerfeld wasn’t the only big fashion name enamoured with Piaggi – she was also the muse of British milliner Stephen Jones, and was referred to by Manolo Blahnik as “the world’s last great authority on frocks.”

Details about Sydney’s Topshop store opening have finally emerged.
The news has finally been confirmed – Topshop will be opening its doors in the Sydney Gowings Building from October 2012.
According to the brand, the flagship store will feature the same selection of “trend-driven pieces, specialised collaborations and bespoke services” it’s renowned for. Managing Director for Topshop, Mary Homer, said she was confident the store would be a hit.

The news means a big shake-up for Sydney’s CBD, which has seen a number of international brands join its shopping line-up in the last year, including Zara, Miu Miu and Christian Louboutin.
“We are partnering with Topshop Topman to create a dynamic Sydney space whilst providing a uniquely British shopping experience,” said Hilton Seskin, Chairman of Next Athleisure. “The end result will be a match made in heaven for Sydney fashion lovers.
