With the worlds eyes on Hollywood’s elite gracing the Red Carpet in their exclusive haute couture gowns, last night marked the 69th Annual Emmy Awards 2017. This is one of televisions and fashions biggest night of nights, bringing out the most breathtaking and outrageous fashion and beauty looks of the year.

Brands such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Gucci and Calvin Klein were highly visible on the Red Carpet. The Emmys Red Carpet also made way for new comer designers to showcase their talents. As fashion devotees, Jade and I are hooked on the incredible fashion.

The biggest trends dominating the Red Carpet this year were deep plunging necklines, one shoulder silhouettes, fishtails, metallics, velvet, tulle, sequins, sleeves details, feathers, belts, cut-outs and voluminous skirts.

R U OK?

We are so fortunate to be living in progressive times and have the ability to discuss many subjects that in previous times may have been taboo or unspoken.

” R U OK? Day is an annual day in September dedicated to remind people to ask family, friends and colleagues the question, “R U OK?”, in a meaningful way, because connecting regularly and meaningfully is one thing everyone can do to make a difference to anyone who might be struggling. ”

Jade and I are extremely passionate about assisting our clients to boost their self esteem and self confidence through what they wear.

Research has shown that we attach great emotions to our clothing. Choosing clothing that make us feel good helps boost our moods.

When you are feeling good you have higher self esteem and are able to perform at a much higher level in both your personal and professional life.

At STYLED BY JADE we encourage you to be the best version of you, through your fashion choices. Your clothes can dictate your moods and thoughts. They change how you carry yourself and how you interact with others. When you feel good on the outside, you are more likely to feel good on the inside.

Next time you wake up feeling low, pop on your favourite outfit, and see how your day pans out. Dressing well really does supply you with a genuine surge of energy that flows positively into all areas of your life.

OCRF White Shirt Campaign | Witchery

Every year Witchery releases a range of White Shirts and Silver jewellery, to raise awareness and funds for Ovarian Cancer.

100% of the gross proceeds of every white shirt sold, goes directly to OCRF and 10% of every purchase from the OCRF silver collection is donated.

Since starting this campaign, Witchery has already raised over 5 Million Dollars for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. These funds have enabled the employment of five full time dedicated research scientists. Most women diagnosed with ovarian cancer are already in the advance stages of the disease, which is a direct result of late diagnoses.

The White shirt campaign is a fantastic opportunity to help raise funds and awareness, whilst looking fabulous at the same time.

“Which shirt will be your pick this season?”

POLO IN THE CITY SYDNEY 2016

On Saturday 12th November, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Land Rover Polo in the City as a VIP Media Guest in Sydney.

It was my second year attending the Polo, which is also known as the ever so glamorous and chic sister to Racing.
The day is a star studded event, with the top A-Listers and who’s who on the invitation list, so I was honoured to be involved with such an event again!

Definitely not a repeat of last year, the weather was absolutely gorgeous and for some even too HOT!! But all in all it ended up being a fantastic event. The energy and excitement on the day, definitely stood out for all.

Leading up to the day in Sydney, I wrote about the Fashion Do’s and Don’ts about what to wear to the POLO and Style Inspirations for Men and Women, taken at last year’s event…… and on the day, it was all about the FASHION oh and of course, the POLO!!

A massive thank you to Land Rover POLO IN THE CITY for the invitation, it was an absolute pleasure attending for my second year in a row and capturing the fashion and excitement of the day!

The Polo is a annual event, held in each major city throughout Australia and definitely a ‘MUST EVENT’ to add to the calendar!

Here’s a selection of images that I took on the day x enjoy!

PREPARING FOR POLO IN THE CITY SYDNEY 2016

polo-in-the-city

It’s that gorgeous time of the year again, where the well known prestigious event is only days away… POLO IN THE CITY SYDNEY 2016!

I am so thrilled to be attending LANDROVER POLO IN THE CITY  Sydney this year, as a VIP Media Guest again… and of course the first thing that came to mind, is ‘What will I wear?’

POLO FASHION, is the ever so glamorous and chic sister to Racing Fashion and the approach of what to wear, should be the same.

FOR THE LADIES…
Think understated elegance, with delicate fabrics and styles.
Lace in ivory, cream or neutral colours, pops of colour and prints, and a touch of monochrome are some of the go to options.

STYLES CAN INCLUDE… soft tailored lines, playsuits, jumpsuits, long gorgeous printed maxi dresses, an easy shift dress, a boho inspired, off the shoulder top and maxi skirt and of course, lets not forget the pant of the season.. a gorgeous delicate culotte!
Polo Fashion, is all about comfort but that shouldn’t affect the glamour!

SHOES…
Polo is NOT the day, to be wearing your latest stiletto purchase. So please opt for a gorgeous leather sandal, comfortable wedge or chunky heel option.

ACCESSORIES…
Sunglasses and a decent size handbag is a MUST…Head wear is not paramount, however a wide brim hat will not only protect you from a day in the sun, but also add some glamour to your outfit! Please NO fascinators!
Jewellery should be complementary to your gorgeous day outfit. Thin delicate pieces, in rose gold, gold or silver are a fashion must have at the moment. However if you’re drawn to more of a statement piece, then opt for it in either gorgeous silver, gold. stones or pops of colour and leave the sparkly diamonte statements pieces at home.

HAIR AND MAKEUP…
Hair and makeup should be kept natural, but a pop of lip colour can never go astray!

FOR THE MEN…
Just like the ladies, Polo Fashion for men should be approached in the same way! A smart casual look is essential, there is no need to suit up!
The Polo is an opportunity to show off a little more of your personality. Have fun with pops of colour, print on print and add a point of difference.

STYLES CAN INCLUDE… A coloured printed shirt, or pop of colour, tailored pant, chino pants or shorts are a great option. A blazer with a stylish pocket square, is always a great way to complete an outfit. But please keep in mind the weather, if it’s going to be too hot, a shirt is suffice.
There is no requirements to wear a tie, but if you prefer the look then go ahead. A bow tie could always be fun too!

SHOES…
Smart leather or suede brogues or loafers are a great choice, or a leather boat shoe. Please do not wear thongs!

ACCESSORIES…
Once again, sunglasses should be a must. And for the men wanting that added protection or style, a woven or felt fedora, is a great addition!

MELBOURNE CUP FASHION | THE HISTORY OF FASHION

I love Melbourne Cup, not for the racing but for the Fashion of Course!!

I have had the pleasure of dressing many women and men for the day, however I also love the history of fashion worn in the past!!

Here a selection of images, that are historical in a right of their own…

This photo is from 1964. For the first time ever there was a generation of young people with money to spend looking for ways to express their new found sense of freedom through fashion. This young lady has a great sense of style – I love her high collar dress, the well made gloves with buttons, the hat and her natural make up.

In 1965 Jean Shrimpton, the world’s highest-paid model, left Melbourne’s elite gasping in disbelief after witnessing her daring white dress cut 10cm above the knee to Derby Day. Leaving her thighs in clear view of the conservative crowds, Shrimpton later said when attending the Melbourne Cup dressed more conservatively: “I feel Melbourne isn’t ready for me yet.”

Then, as now, parading in one’s finery on the day is obviously nothing new. “The Lawn” would appear to be the place to be and the place to be seen. And what a marvelous snapshot of Edwardian summer fashions.  Taken at Flemington Racecourse on Melbourne Cup Day, circa 1906.

And my all time favourite icon.. Audrey Hepburn with her dear friend, Baroness Marie-Hélène de Rothschild during the horse racing at Hippodrome de Longchamp in Paris (France), on June 20, 1966. I know it’s not at the Melbourne Cup, but she had to be included.
